This empty-nester couple realized the time was right to transform their home to better reflect how they want to live today. Built in 1948, their home in Richfield, bordering Woodlake Nature Center, was ready for a new floor plan. The primary goal was to open up the existing formal dining room and kitchen to create a larger, high-functioning kitchen. A generous island anchors the space, serving as a hub for meal preparation and gathering with guests. Stained wood and painted custom cabinetry, paired with classic brass hardware and lighting, elevates both the style and organization. Thoughtful storage means no more trips downstairs for serving pieces or the crockpot, with a dedicated pantry keeping cooking essentials close at hand. Honoring the home’s 1940s character, tudor arched doorways were recreated and the original wood floors were carefully repaired and refinished. Come see how this remodel creates easy living and effortless entertaining for this couple, with many years to come!
