Main Level Facelift: This home has great spaces and an efficient layout but felt fussy and lacked being a friendly backdrop to this active family of five. Throughout the main level finishes and lighting were changed to convey a cleaner, more neutral, and modern feeling. Wood shutters were removed to let the light shine in. All new furnishings were purchased for dining and eat-in kitchen spaces, and the spacious family/living room. Items selected kept resiliency and durability in mind while not losing warmth and touch. A newly shaped island and counter tops made for a more timeless kitchen. A heavy traditional fireplace with flanking built-ins was the focal point of the open spaces. This entire wall was reimagined with a streamlined fireplace made of reclaimed limestone from France. The existing gas fireplace was repurposed but in a much simpler way. This sun filled main level is not only, brighter and lighter, but much more comfortable making a perfect homebase for this lovely family.
