Preserving historic integrity while balancing modern living was our primary objective. Our 1909 four square has a very small and somewhat peculiar kitchen. With expert guidance, we gained more storage, counter space, and a bathroom on the main floor (we even added a doorway between the kitchen and front room so you don’t have to run around through the dining room to access the kitchen!) Most of all, we would love attendees to know about all the local contractors we worked with to complete our renovations! The cabinets were perhaps the most important element for us. With nine foot ceilings, we wanted to make use of vertical storage options by extending them to the ceiling. Our cabinet maker D&B Custom Woods LLC used the original dining room built-in for stain and trim inspiration. We are more than thrilled with the results!
