After living in the home for 12 years plus adding two kids, they were very aware of the home’s weaknesses for daily family life. Andy and Sarah attended the MSP Home Tour in 2022 and met the AMEK Design + Build team which kickstarted their seriousness about making their 1959 home more livable. As you enter the new front entrance and porch, the changes are impactful for flow and function. Removing two walls and cantilevering a bump out opens up the kitchen to the family room and dining room to elevate ease in entertaining large groups. A kitchen island was a high-priority to add seating capacity and to create a buffer work zone between the cooks and the guests. With a nod to Scandinavian and transitional styles, the home blends a modern look with earth tones.
