We received a reuse grant from Hennepin County to use salvage materials in our remodel. We bought stained glass from a local artist-owned glass supply store Potek glass to replace the glass in the salvaged cabinets from Bauer brothers. We spent many hours at Bauer brothers and (now closed) Guilded Salvage piecing together 5 sets of built in buffets to make a cohesive set of kitchen cabinets. We also used salvaged maple flooring from Better Futures to finish the attic. We kept a vintage green tub that was on the property and reused it on the 3rd floor. Many parts of the home are newly remodeled but we invite people to guess what is original to the home and what is new. The home is currently managed as an Airbnb and decorated with original art, 75% of which is from local artists.

We hope you come by on Saturday and hear from the Hennepin County Construction and Demolition Waste Specialists on how you can renovate your home sustainably!
