Have you recently remodeled your home? Would you like to thank the people who helped or from whom you borrowed ideas? Does your home have features that get people to take notice? Has your home been maintained or renovated in a way that respects the craftsmanship and design characteristics appropriate for its distinct style and era? Would you like to promote home ownership and pride in your neighborhood? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should nominate your home for a future Minneapolis & Saint Paul Home Tour.

The tour seeks to show a range of types of remodeling projects, even new homes that are energy-efficient. A home can also be historic, unusual, live-work, even rental — showing the range of what’s available in the city.

Once we receive your application, you will get a phone call or email, to start a conversation and/or to schedule an appointment to view the home. The coordinator usually tries to be efficient and schedule several appointments in sequence in a single part of the city, with both spouses/partners present. Between touring the home and discussing how the tour works, appointments take 1-2 hours. The application deadline is January 16, 2012. After that, we finish viewing homes and recruit to achieve balance and clustering, so feel free to apply even if the deadline has passed. After mid-February, applications will likely be considered a good start on the next year.

The Tour especially encourages families with school-age children, persons of color, and persons with disabilities, to apply for the tour.
